The final qualifying session of the year in the European Endurance Prototype Cup lived up to all its promises. After a wet Q1, the drivers had to cope with changing grip conditions during the other two 15-minute sessions. Some even switched to slicks at the very end of Q3.
The Graff N°9 was one of the cars fitted with dry rubber. Ideally launched by Eric Trouillet, who is very comfortable in the wet, Luis Sanjuan then Gaël Julien did the work to secure pole position. The recent ELMS LMP3 champion quickly got into the rhythm at the wheel of the Nova NP02, which he is discovering this weekend. The championship leaders are perfectly positioned to challenge for the title.
Fourth overall, the N°72 ANS Motorsport scored its best qualifying result of the year. Erwin Creed and Mathis Poulet, backed up this weekend by Paul Trojani, were second in their class. The Graff N°39 of George King, Louis Rossi and Rémy Deguffroy finished third. The COGEMO N°154 (Jesse Bouhet, Yohan Rossel, Marlon Hernandez) and the CD Sport N°5 (Thomas Imbourg, Jonathan Thomas) are in the top-5. In seventh place, the Graff N°7 (James Winslow, John Corbett) will have to move up the order to become drivers' champion.
TS Corse on pole for the first time in 2024. The N°24 LMP3 showed great consistency to take the class lead at the start of the race. Despite the presence of three Silvers, the N°34 Inter Europol was only second. Pedro Perino, Romain Favre and Dane Arendsen were nevertheless well placed for victory. An imperative result for the Portuguese, who is mathematically still in contention for the drivers' championship.
From first place on the grid in March, Cool Racing's N°87 (Adrien Closmenil, David Droux, Quentin Joseph) finished third. The task was more difficult for the Virage LMP3s. The N°1 (Georgios Kolovos, Axel Gnos and Sacha Lehmann) was only fifth, just ahead of sister car N°88 (Raphaël Narac, Daniel Macia, Jacek Zielonka). The start of the final race of the year is at 5.45pm.
